This is a my first finished peice of concept art. I took a large amount of hours over about 2 weeks to finish. And i tryed a veriaty of diffrent looks and techniques on the peice to produce the final concept.

to create the character i first produced a mood bored based on the theme of the character.
this is shown below:

As shown the character is based upon old samarai armour but with a modern twist.

i sketch up an outline for the peice so that i knew were to place the verious elements within the photoshop file.
i sstarted on the armour and then the body and head. I then added some finishing touches like the the shadow and cleaned up the edges of the peice.
This is the final peice:

sniper rifle

i have been modeling a few diffrent modles outside college and have just finished on of them. This model is a sniper rifle which only took about four days but i am fairly happy with the overall look of the weapon.
Below is a renders of the textured model:

week 3

This week we advanced our idea and changed the idea of the location. We started the find names for various characters and locations during the game and developed some back story for the game. We then started to fill in the design document with the details that we had so far developed for the game. The first draft of this document was to be completed by 25th of March. We also started to sketch some character ideas out and learned some character drawing techniques. These proved fairly useful to help keep scale and proportion right within the character designs.

week 2

This week we have finalised our idea and come up with a set idea and a theme for the game play. we have also started to think about verious aspects of the game such as weapon ideas, eneimies, characters and how the story line may possible play out.

Minor game development

In the first week of this project we spent the time brain storming ideas about the possablilitys of what our game could b based around. We came up with a number of ideas for the project and discussed the possabilities of the game play and verious aspects of the game. We didnt decide on a definate idea for the game but have alot of to work off.

Spacell awarness finshed

I have now finished my spacell awareness project. I enjoyed the project and found that I learned a lot throughout the project. Because i had never used the unreal engine before I feel like I learned a lot and adapted well to the software. I feel the skills i learned throughout the modular are valuable and will be transferable to other projects and work in the future.

I realised though the model that I had to manage my time efficiently to make sure that I modelled and textured everything that I needed to. I feel like I have produced a successful level and I am very happy with the work I have done.
Below are some screen shots of finished level in game:

Throughout the project I created a large amount of assets and used modelling techniques I had never used prior to this modular a found that my modelling speed has increased and they time it takes for me to unwrap and texture assets has shortened. This is a good thing because I can now produce complete models at a reasonable speed to a reasonable quality.
Here are some renders of the some of the main assets in my level:

Building a Generator

This week we were given the task to Research and design a generator to be used within our levels. We had to create the asset within a limit of 1500 polys. And then texture the completed model and then render it within 3ds max and in game.
I first researched generators both in the real world and in game.
and then started to design it within 3ds max
i finished the modeling and unwrap within the first day
and on the day after i finished the texture of the model

below are some images of the finished generator:
